ABOUT THE ARTIST

Hi, friends! My name is Jamie. I’m a born and raised Nebraskan with a passion to tell the stories of people from all walks of life. I graduated from Creighton University in 2014, where I received a B.A in Photojournalism and Graphic Design. My educational background gives me an edge above the rest; my fly-on-the-wall approach creates unique, real, and beautiful memories you’ll be proud to display in your home.

My business name, Adélie (pronounced adele-ee) came from my love of penguins (I even have a penguin tattoo!) and their unending love for one another. I believe love is the most powerful force in the universe, and it’s what drives me in the work I do every day.

I’ve been taking pictures and shooting videos for almost my entire life. I started out making movies with my friends as early as 9 years old and I have dozens of photo albums in my office with my earliest work. I’ve always had a creative eye, but it wasn’t until college that I took my passion for photography and considered doing it for a living. I shot and edited a mini-documentary about my mom’s battle with cancer when I was 19 and it inspired me to continue to tell real stories with real people, and I’ve been doing it ever since.

I’m married to my best friend, Jake and we’ve been together since 2012. We met at a New Year’s Eve Party and we texted non-stop for over a week until we made it official. We tied the knot in 2017 and brought our bright and bubbly little boy, Theo into our lives in 2019. Theo is the light of my life and is one of my favorite subjects to shoot! Being a toddler, he can be tricky to get in focus, but he keeps things interesting and challenges me in my craft. Both of my boys push me to be my best every day and make life so much fun!

In my spare time, I love to read, write, binge-watch my favorite shows (namely The Office), drink copious amounts of coffee (did I mention I have a toddler?!), take my dog for walks, cook, clean (it’s my therapy!), sing and play guitar, and spend quality time with my loved ones. My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving, I LIVE for Husker Football, the LA Rams and the San Francisco Giants, I’m a breastfeeding advocate, I'm a cinephile and I love to laugh. My favorite comedian is John Mulaney and my favorite movie is Wayne’s World. I try not to take myself too seriously, though I’m very serious and passionate about societal issues. I’m a firm supporter of the LGBTQIA+ community (love is love!), civil rights, feminism, the environment, and much more. My biggest dream in life is to work for a non-profit and use my skills to better the world. I’m not sure how I’ll get there, but big goals give me the inspiration and drive to continue to push myself to be the best I can be.

Now, I know what you’re thinking - there are literally hundreds of photographers in the area, why should you choose me? I am a firm believer in finding a photographer who is not only in your budget and provides a quality product, but is a person who you can trust and see yourself hanging out with. You want someone who will dance with your relatives during the reception? You got it! You want someone who will kick back with your wedding party during happy hour? Absolutely! You want someone who LOVES love, weddings, and being a part of something bigger than themself? I’m your girl! You should choose me because I love people and sharing their joy. I have been working weddings for a long time - whether it be a photographer, videographer, or even a wedding singer! - and I have found that they are my happy place. I love the fast-paced nature, the ever-flowing of emotions, and all of the wonderful people I get to meet. Even if we only ever cross paths so I can photograph your wedding, my hope is to leave a lasting impact on you and your friends and family. That’s the Adélie difference! I work hard to provide you excellent customer service, gorgeous photos, and an experience you will never forget!
